Farmers will have an easier time watering their lands. They will receive the right to place water inlets in nearby lakes and rivers. The document also foresee for lake owners to be sanctioned in case they will not allow farmers to use the water.

"City Halls are renting lands, while farmers lack access to lakes. Owners are not obligated to create the conditions required for agricultural producers for irrigation. We suggested harsh fines, otherwise it is impossible to influence" Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, Liviu Volconovici declared.

Authors suggest for those who will forbid farmers from watering their lands to receive fines to 3 000 lei, per natural person and to 25 000 lei per legal person.

At the same time, the list of required documents necessary to gain authorization to use water inlets was reduced.

The documents also states that fish farmers can no longer drain lakes to collect fish.
