In Chisinau was held the Festival of traditional Ukrainian costumes. The event gathered dozens of Ukrainians, who promoted not only their clothes, but also traditions passed down from generation to generation.
Those who participated at the festival dances and sung Ukrainian songs and marched on the sidewalks, all the way to Grigore Vieru boulevard, where they released red, yellow and blue balloons.
People came to the festival dressed in traditional Ukrainian costumes.
Vyshyvanka day is celebrated in over 40 countries and is meant to promote and maintain traditions.
According to the latest data, in Republic of Moldova live over 180 000 Ukrainians.
