A 24-year-old Israeli was arrested by Moldovan law enforcement. The suspect gained 6 000 Euro from an Indian citizen through fraud and abuse of trust.

The suspect, who is a student at a University from Chisinau, convinced the victim, who was expelled from said University, that he has influence upon decision-markers from the University and can help him re-enroll. The suspect requested and received from the victim 4 500 Euro.

Later, under the pretext that he has influence over officers from Bureau for Migration and Asylum, the Israeli requested and received from the Indian another 1 500 Euro to remain in Republic of Moldova.

After receiving the money, the suspect disappeared.

The same scheme was also used on another two foreigners, two Indian citizens, who left Republic of Moldova, after being in a vulnerable situation.
