Local election in Moldova: Citizens of Nemteni and Leuseni villages welcomed by music
The local elections take place not only in Chisinau and Balti, but also in five other villages. In Leuseni and Nemteni village, Hancesti district, the voters were welcomed with good music and good mood.
Mihai Zghiban is a 19 year old resident of Leuseni village, Hancesti district. Today, he voted for the first time. The young says he had great emotions and he thinks his vote counts.
"I voted for the village, for the community. I have higher expectations than in the last year", said Mihai Zghiban, elector.
The residents of Leuseni village say that they want a good person to be the mayor.
"We need a person who will make order in the village."
"First of all, we need drinking water, sewerage and Culture house."
"We need a person who will contribute to repair the roads."
The candidates from the ballots have also been at the elections. One of them says he dreams of a great future for his village.
"I am thinking about the residents of the village and I want to make great things for them", said Ion Dragan, PDM candidate.
According to the president of the Elections Council of Leuseni Constituency, in the village there are 1857 citizens eligible to vote.
It is a holiday for the village. People are very active", said Tatiana Gheorghiu, the president of the Elections Council from Leuseni.
The residents of Nemteni village also elect their mayor today. Ion Juc from Nemteni usually goes fishing on Sundays, but today, he went to vote first of all.
"I grew up on the Nistru bank and I like the fish. I hope we will have a great mayor", said Ion Juc, elector.
The residents of the village say that they want welfare.
"We need a mayor who will repair our roads."
The mayor of Nemteni and Leuseni villages resigned this winter. He was elected in the summer of 2015. In Volovita village, Soroca district, Joja de Mijloc village from Orhei and Parlita village from Ungheni there are also elections today.
