Internet service providers will be required to offer users the ability to install Internet content filtering applications with negative impact on children. Parents will be able to download these apps, protecting children in the virtual environment. At the same time, operators will create special sections dedicated to online safety information on their websites.

Amendments to the Child Protection Act against the negative impact of information were approved at today's Executive Meeting.

The measures have been developed in line with the Action Plan to promote the safety of children and adolescents for the years 2017-2020.

According to a study conducted by the SocioPolis Research and Advice Center, the main issues in online space are the breakdown of social networking accounts - every fifth child between the ages of 12 and 15 has collided with such cases, blocking groups social networks - 18.6% of children, involuntary access to or viewing sexual images - 16.3% of children.

Among the risky actions of adolescents on the internet is that one-third of children are looking for friends online. 30 percent do shopping in online stores, and 13 percent buy online games. Many children do not know about the risks in virtual space.

At present, some Internet service providers in our country already provide access to applications that protect children in online space at the request of subscribers.
