Main street from Tomai village repaired due to project funded by EU

The main road from Tomai village, Ceadar-Lunga district was repaired with a new technology. The highway that unites the main public institutions from the village has a modern system of evaluating the pluvial water. The works took place five months and costed over 160 thousand euros.
A part of the money were offered by the EU and the rest were allocated by the local budget.
"The road was in a terrible situation. The cars couldn't drive here. Now, everything is great."
"We are on Cotovschi street, the main street from the village. Here are placed the main institutions. Here is the police, the City Hall, the lyceum, kindergarten, postal office and the pharmacies", said Fiodor Topciu, the mayor of Tomai village.
Another project was financed by the European partners was implemented in Avdarma village. Here the lyceum and the kindergarten was thermally isolated
For the renovation of these institutions, over 60 thousand euros were allocated by the EU and over 77 thousand lei by the Gagauzia authorities.
"The project provided the thermal isolation of two buildings: the kindergarten and the lyceum. During four years, we searched for somebody to finance us", said Ivan Casim, the mayor of Avdarma village.
"We needed this project, because there was very cold in these buildings", said Elena Caramit, the director of Dmitri Celenghir lyceum.
Till the end of 40 villages from Taraclia district will develop the infrastructure due to EU projects.
