Constitutional Court rejected Igor Dodon's request regarding anti-propaganda law
The anti-propaganda law that was adopted at the end of the last year doesn't fit the Constitution's requirements. The decision was pronounced today by the Constitutional Court, that rejected the request of Igor Dodon.
The President of the Parliament supports the law regarding the access to the information. On the other side, the magistrates of the Supreme Court think that the document doesn't limit this right, but targets to provide the security of the information.
According to the magistrates, this practice is implemented in many European countries.
The law allows the broadcasting of informational, informational, analytical, military and political TV and radio programs from states that have ratified the European Convention on Transfrontier Television but also from European countries, the United States of America and Canada.
The document provides sanctions worth 40 000 and 70 000 lei for the ones who don't obey the law. In case there will be some more encroaches of this time, the fine will reach one hundred lei.
