First BAC exam held today. Many students are confident that they have passed
High School graduates have begun feeling the pressure from bacalaureat. The first to test their knowledge were nearly 3 000 young people who studied in Russian. They took an exam on Romanian language.
21 candidates have taken their first BAC exam in Mihail Berezovschi Lyceum, from Ciocana sector.
Students were check with metal detectors and asked to leave their phones, as well as other devices, behind.
The first candidate finished the exam an hour early.
"I did not know how to do the final exercise, as it was an unknown for me poem. It was about Eminescu, about the third letter", a student mentioned.
Generally, many were pleased by what they wrote:
"It was not as difficult as I was expecting. I wrote everything. I am confident in myself and this language, as it is the official language of my country."
"I failed to do an exercise. You had to describe in 12 sentences Mihai Eminescu's third letter."
Some found it difficult to speak in Romanian:
"The most difficult thing was remembering everything. While I know Russian very good, my Romanian is not so."
"I do not wish to embarrass myself. My teacher would punish me in that case."
This year, a total of over 18 000 candidates have registered to take the bacalaureat. Among them nearly 3 000 have previously failed to pass the examination. The next exam will take place on June 8.
