Within today's session of the Government, the minister of Internal Affairs presented the draft law to the Government in order to approve the law regarding the modification of the legislative acts.

This law draft provides the modification and completing of the law regarding the road safety and the Contraventional Code, through the clear regulation of some norms for all kinds of drivers.

The modifications provide forbidding the actions that may distract drivers' attention, through using cell-phones of similar technique. If they will encroach the law, they will be fined between 450 and 600 lei and three penalization points.

At the same time, there was approved the increase of the contravention sanctions for not letting the bicycle drivers or the pedestrians to cross the road or overpass. According to these changes of the Contravention Code, the drivers will be fined between 600 and 1 200 lei and three penalization points. 

In the first five months of 2018, because of not offering priority to the pedestrians, 113 accidents took place, after what, three persons died and 116 were injured.
