Citizens of Moldova will have from now on easier access to the data from the national archive, including to create their family tree. Over five million digitized pages will be available to the people.

Citizens will have access to all documents from 1809 to 1930 in a special chamber in the National Archive.

Most of the documents were offered to the National Archive by an organization from USA.

The documents will following be arranged in special maps.

Any person who wishes to study their family's history can access the documents for free, while such services offered by private companies reaches to 300 Euro. The law forbids those documents from being uploaded online.

The program to digitize the National Archive will last another 10 years.
