Law enforcement simulated a bomb scare at OSCE office
Panic burst last evening in the Capital's heart after the territory of OSCE Mission to Moldova was surrounded by police officers, bomb disposal unit and rescuers. At the same time, traffic was suspended from Pușkin to Bănulescu Bodoni streets. Law enforcement have simulated a bomb scare and acted as they would in a real situation.
According to the scenario, a call came in, warning that at OSCE Mission to Moldova's office was placed a bomb. Troops, paramedics, firefighters, police officers and bomb disposal unit were dispatched to the scene. The exercise took place for nearly two hours.
"I wish to go home, but I cannot."
"They should do such exercises more often."
Some passersby could not understand that it was a false alarm.
"Maybe it is a theft, or hostage situation, I do not even wish to know."
"I feel like I am in danger here."
Some people have filmed the exercise and posted it on social media. The simulation was organized by General Police Inspectorate and U.S. Embassy in Moldova.
