New subject at school starting first grade: Robotics, entrepreneurism and analytical thinking
Robotics, entrepreneurism and analytical thinking. Those are the new subjects that will be taught starting first grade. From September, pupils will be learning a new subject - digital education.
Cosmin Ciorbă is an 8th grader and for already four years is passionate about robotics. The young man dreams to become an programmer. He claims that technology is the future and digital education is a very important subject.
"I dream of having such subjects in school, because it is very interesting and a big plus in education. You can learn math and physics using those drones" Cosmin Ciorbă said.
Ministry of Education and Ministry of Economy along with Tekwill have singed a Memorandum, to ensure the society's development in the IT sector.
"IT is becoming more and more part of our lives. Once digital education is taught from first grade, of course the sole notions of computer science will change, as well as multiple aspects of the curriculum" Minister of Education, Monica Babuc, declared.
"We wish for our first graders to know digital education, to know what it is, how to use it and how to correctly access the internet, access computers" Minister of Education and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici said.
Children claim that the new subject will be of great help:
"You can play different games and it is easier to access various sites seeking information."
"The school will offer a more interesting subject. Children will be more enthusiastic, I say this form my own experience. The school must prepare children for their future."
"This is important for our future, as it will be based on technology."
Over 2 000 teachers will be trained to be able to offer courses in digital education, while the necessary equipment will be donated to schools.
