Interim Mayor, Ruslan Codreanu declared that no private kindergarten from Chisinau is accredited at the Ministry of Education. Those only have licenses issued by the Licensing Chamber of Moldova. Therefore, private preschool institutions are not inspected and verified.

"I wish for all parents to understand what they are risking when taking their children to private kindergartens. We cannot control the curriculum, nor investigate the sanitary norms under which the institution is activating" Ruslan Codreanu said.

According to Ruslan Codreanu, authorities do not even know how many private kindergartens are in Chisinau.

"People must understand that private institutions are first of all a business establishment. A private two-floor house build by some people. I solely question who will be made responsible were something to happen in such kindergartens" Ruslan Codreanu added.

Representatives of the Education Department of Chisinau City Hall clam that the procedure of accreditation was suspended in July 2010, while at the moment there are no methods for private preschools to gain authorizations.
