The Government will examine today a law that aims to protect doctors from abuse on the territory or within a medical institution. Harassers might receive a fine to 68 000 lei or a 5 year sentence.
The document's authors claim that the new law will ensure that doctors will be protected from physical, psychological and verbal abuse. Previously, the press wrote of multiple abuse cases.
In 2016, many specialists working at the Emergency Medicine Institute from Chisinau were harassed and humiliated by a drunk young man.
Two years ago, a doctor from the Oncology Institute was abused by the husband of a patient. The man having attacked her with a taser and attempted to strangle her, while the victim was getting out of the car.
