Chiril Gaburici: Republic of Moldova's economy might grow, on average, by 5%
Republic of Moldova's economy might grow, on average, by 5%. The declaration was made by Minister Chiril Gaburici, last evening's special guest on Fabrika. The official claims that this will be possible due to multiple policies, including the one allowing foreign citizens to gain Moldovan citizenship through investments.
"We estimate that within five year we will be able to attract around one billion USD. Investments mean jobs, allowing our people to remain in Moldova and not seek a future abroad. Investments mean a better economy" Minister of Economy, Chiril Gaburici said.
Here, the official ensured that there are many precautions to avoid false investors from appearing.
"The company that will offer services, will have access to a global network, which is used by all financial institutions, while a financial institution will never offer a loan or do business with someone implicated in money laundering or is late paying the bills" Chiril Gaburici explained.
The law on gaining citizenship through investments was brought into force last autumn.
According to the document, foreigners who will spend at least 100 000 Euro in the area of strategic development will be able to gain Moldovan citizenship.
Similar projects also exist in other countries, such as Spain, Portugal, Cyprus or Greece.
