Over 200 people protested in front of the Nativity Cathedral to support priest Maxim Melinti
Over 200 people came yesterday to the Metropolitan Cathedral square to support priest Maxim Melinti. People demanded from the decision taken by Metropolitan Church of Moldova, by which the priest from Ghidighici village was forbidden from holding services, to be canceled.
"I came here as a simple Christian requesting for father Maxim to admit his mistake of propagating homosexuality in the sutan" deacon Ghenadie Văluţă said.
Protesters claim that they will not give up until priest Maxim Melinti will not regain the right to hold church services.
"He helps children and elders, especially during winter when they don't have wood for fire."
"I have never before met such a good priest."
"We became very close with Father Maxim, he is practically part of all events from the village" Mayor of Ghidighici, Serafim Isac said.
"He is humble and many of his actions are made to simply help people in difficult situations. I am very touched by this."
The scandal begun three days ago, when Metropolitan Church of Moldova did not tolerated the fact the father Maxim Melinti accepted a reward from the LGBT community.
