Pavel Filip at Washington: We are a pro-business Government because we wish to offer people welfare
Eric Stewart, President of the American Czech Business Council declared during a meeting, organized in Washington, with a delegation from the Republic of Moldova led by Pavel Filip, that the Republic of Moldova is attractive for US investors. Representatives of US companies who attended the event have expressed their interest in Moldova's economic potential and declared that they will study the possibility to make investments.
Pavel Filip encouraged businessmen to invest in Moldova. Prime Minister mentioned that recently, the Government he leads managed to implement multiple reforms improving the business environment.
"We are a pro-business Government because we wish to offer people welfare and to have the possibility to make more public and social investments. The reform agenda was based first of all on reforming the control bodies from the Republic of Moldova. Those having decreased from 60 to 13" Pavel Filip said.
The delegation of the Republic of Moldova, that attended the meeting, included the new Moldovan Ambassador to the USA, Cristina Balan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tudor Ulianovschi, as well as Minister of Economy, Chiril Gaburici.
"As Minister of Economy the most important thing for me is for the Government to ensure the country's development. The results over the past two years have shown a stable economic growth. This proves that we are moving in the right direction" Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici said.
After the talks with officials from Moldova, representatives of multiple US companies declared that they are interested in investing in IT, infrastructure and other fields.
"The Republic of Moldova is a friend of the USA. It is a country we are interested in. It is in our interest for the relations between the USA and the Republic of Moldova to be strong, especially from an economic point of view" Eric Stewart declared.
American Czech Business Council is a platform offering mutual trade opportunities between the USA and states from Central Europe. It has 14 member states, including the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia. At the moment, in the Republic of Moldova are activating over 400 companies with American capital.
