Around 900 young entrepreneurs received grants within the IFAD programs
Around 900 young entrepreneurs received grants within the IFAD programs, financed by the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark. A total of over 9 million USD were offered. 70 entrepreneurs received the rewards within an event.
Eugen Lozovanu, 30, owns a 5 hectares plum orchard. The young man received 300 000 lei, out of which 120 000 lei is a grant.
The entrepreneur plans to extend his business.
"The amount of harvest increased, this orchard is already 14 years old" Eugen Lozovanu said.
Other IFAD beneficiaries also managed to extend their business and created new jobs:
"I purchased a new excavator. It costed 640 000 lei, but it helps in many works."
"I received a grant of 120 000, while the whole project costed 550 000. I purchased a tractor, which helped develop the business" manager of the Credit department at IFAD, Elena Burlacu said.
"Within IFAD 5 and IFAD 6 were financed around 900 young entrepreneurs. The grants worth 40% of the amount needed to develop their activity in the rural area."
This year, 5% of the subventions worth 900 million lei will be offered to young women.
The IFAD program was implemented in the Republic of Moldova in 2011.
