Moldovan carriers who travel to Bulgaria will be able to transit through Romania without the need for special permits. The decision was made at the meeting of the Joint Moldovan-Romanian Commission, which takes place between June 26-27 in Bucharest. The Delegation of the Republic of Moldova is headed by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, Serghei Bucataru, and the Romanian delegation - the Director of the Road Transport Department of the Ministry of Transport, Corneliu-Ioan Dimitriu. The commission's sessions deal with topics related to improving the quality of international road transport and solving the difficulties in the field.
Serghei Bucataru, said that the Joint Commission on Road Transport is an opportunity to promote and intensify the relations in the field of international road freight transport between Moldova and Romania in the interest of the transport operators.
According to the Secretary of State, the Joint Commission looks at how international road transport is under way and the difficulties that have arisen in bilateral co-operation. Also, the members of the Commission are aiming to identify the solutions to solve these difficulties in the interest of the transport operators in Romania and Moldova.
Several subjects related to the road freight transport and the transport of persons were included in the agenda, among which the issue of taxes for the use of roads by non-registered motor vehicles in the Republic of Moldova, which was introduced on the territory of the Republic of Moldova in February 2018 , the regulation of the road freight transport services between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, the long stay of the trucks at the border crossing points, as well as the authorization of the regular passenger transport services.
