The decisions of the courts regarding the Capital elections, as well as that of the Central Electoral Commission, should be accepted, even if there are several questions. The declaration belongs to Egidijus Vareikis, the rapporteur for Moldova of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Egidijus Vareikis.
The European official considers that neither Andrei Nastase, nor Ion Ceban, nor the government, is in favor of the situation.
PACE's rapporteur sees the political situation in the country as a complicated one, as the pro-European opposition protests against a ruling with the same vector. Vareikis believes that the European institutions can have their views, but he needs more information before deciding on the issue.
The official also said that the application of the mixed electoral system is a sovereign decision of our country, which can not be subjected to external pressure.
The elections on June 3 were declared invalid, as the candidates for the mayoralty, Andrei Nastase and Ion Ceban, encroached the rules on the silence day.
