8 500 victims of the deportations will benefit of allowances and discounts on vacations.

The facilities were included in the social package of the victims of the political repression and it was approved by the Government yesterday. The decision was taken before July 6, the day to commemorate the victims of the 1949 deportations.

Thus, starting September 1, the persons deported will benefit of a monthly allowance worth 500 lei.

Over 13 million lei were allocated to implement this project. Also, the victims of the political repressions will have discounts on vacation tickets. These will cost only 3 250 lei.

"They will benefit of treatment. Once in a year, they will be allowed to go to the sanatorium for free", said Svetlana Cebotari, the minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection.

The social package will also have additional services. Thus, the victims of the deportations will have the possibility to benefit of a free medical examination per year.

"We want to offer them this opportunity. Also, we wanted to raise the monthly allowance from 100 to 500 lei. It is important for us to provide good life conditions for these people", said Pavel Filip.

The day of July 6, was declared National mourning day.
