Employees of Institute of Zoology and Microbiology fight against mold. June rain fall flooded building
The mold overwhelmed the Institute of Zoology and Microbiology from the Capital. The rain falls of the last period flooded the laboratories placed on the third and fourth floor of the institute. The utensils worth over one million lei risk to be damaged because of the humidity in the building.
The employees of the institution evacuated the water and saved their belongings.
"We can't evacuate the equipment. He have been working for 3-4 hours and took all the water away", said Elena Zubcov, the chief of the Hydrobiology and Ecotoxicology, Institute of Zoology.
The collections of the institute also are under risk. The scientists make the all possible to keep those.
"Usually, the mold appears after such rain falls", said Stefan Rusu, the chief of the Laboratory of Parasitology and Hermitology, Institute of Zoology.
The responsible from the ministry of Education promised that they will allocate seven million lei to build the roof. The work will start at the end of August.
"On Friday, we had a meeting at the ministry of Education, Culture and Research. First of all, I am glad that the roof is about to be repaired", declared Ion Toderas, the chief of the Zoology Institute.
"We are about to find an economic agent who will start the repair works", said Elena Belei, state secretary within the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.
The fire that occurred on April 20 at the Institute of Zoology burned three square meters of roof.
