79 kilos of heroine seized by people of the law. Five Turkey citizens to be sued (PHOTO)
The five Turkey citizens involved in drugs smuggling case to be sued after PCCOCS magistrates finished the investigation.
According to the prosecutors, the criminal group was two years old. Between 2015 and 2017, the men bought four semi-trailers and towing trucks, where crafts were specially designed to hide drugs, camouflaging the illegal trafficking of drugs into the apparently legal economic agent's activity of providing freight services.
The prosecutors found two routes used by the smugglers to transport the drugs:
1. Afganistan – Iran – Azerbaidjan – Georgia – Ukraine –Republic of Moldova – European Union (the Netherlands/Germany)
2. Afganistan – Iran – Turkey – Bulgaria – Romania – Republic of Moldova – European Union (the Netherlands/Germany).
"In February 2018, the criminal group hided 80 kilos of heroine in the semi-trailer of a car going in Turkey through Bulgaria and Romania.
As a result, on February 23, 2018 the PCCOCS evolved investigation in a storage from Ialoveni. There 79 kilos of heroine were found.
It is worth mentioning that the controlled smuggling attempts were realized under cover of the Romanian, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan and Ukraine authorities.
Also, within the investigation, approximately 2 million lei were found by PCCOCS officers.
If found guilty, the members of the criminal group risk between 7 and 15 years behind bars.
