Ministry of Health presents details within cases of children infected of measles
The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection announces the existence of a multiple outbreak of measles with the involvement of 20 children, only three of whom received a single dose of measles vaccine, which is insufficient to be protected from this infection.
It is assumed that the children contacted the disease while they were in a summer camp in Morenii Noi, Ungheni district, which works without coordination with the competent authorities.
The person suspected of being the source of the infection is from the village of Cazaclia and came to the camp, already with clinical signs of measles, after being in a Bolstadt for a week in the Odessa region, where he contacted sick people with measles.
One of the causes of this outbreak is the admission of children with obvious signs of disease in a community.
Those suspected of being measles originated in the Ciadir-Lunga district, including 8 in Beşghioz, 4 in the villages of Copciac and Cazaclia, another in the Vulcanesti district and another 3 in the Ungheni district.
All children showed the following symptoms: fever 38-39 C, conjunctivitis, rhinorrhoea, dry tusk and maculo-papular rashes, first on the face, then on the throat. At the moment, the children are under the supervision of the infectious physician and receive appropriate treatment.
Please note that the reason for the refusal to vaccinate children by parents is the reason for belonging to religious confessions.
In this context, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection points out that this case is further proof that measles remains a highly contagious infection and the only sure measure of protection is prophylactic vaccination according to the National Immunization Calendar.
And belonging to a religious confession, nationality, or political stream does not protect us from contacting this contagious disease.
Remember! The only and most effective way to prevent some infectious diseases is vaccination!
