Former Chief of the State Tax Inspectorate, Ion Prisăcaru, supports the tax reform recently adopted by Parliament, which provides for lower taxes on employees, reduced taxes for certain categories of business, and voluntary declaration of goods. According to Prisăcaru, the Government's decision to reduce taxes is ambitious and responsible. Thanks to this package of laws, budget revenues will grow and citizens will benefit, the former Chief Financial Officer said.
"This decrease will lead to the officialization of wages, accordingly will lead to the increase of the tax base, the indexation of salaries. Accordingly, the state budget, local budgets and the social security budget will have additional income", said Ion Prisăcaru, the former chief State Tax Service.
The law package adopted by the Parliament provides for a reduction in income tax from 18 to 12 percent by establishing a single rate. Also, the contribution to the Social Insurance Budget is decreasing, from 23 to 18 percent. There has also been a 20 to 10 percent reduction in the VAT rate for restaurants, hotels and cafes. And taxi drivers with a salary of less than 10 thousand lei a month will pay a fixed income tax of 500 lei per month.
Following the reform, the pressure of the force to the business environment will be reduced, and preventive arrest will be applied less frequently. The tax reform will come into force on October 1.
