At the proposal of the Consultative Council, the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure will examine the adjustment of passenger transport tariffs on national regular routes, according to the calculations made by the National Center for Legal Expertise in 2012. According to the expert report, the tariff for passenger transport by regular services should be in the amount of 0.58 lei per kilometer. The subject was discussed by the members of the Consultative Council following the request of the employers' organizations and the decision taken by the members of the National Commission for Consultations and Collective Bargaining (CNCNC) at the meeting last week.
At the hearing, the representatives of the carriers proposed that the tariff for passenger transport should be set in line with real costs. According to them, rising fuel prices, lubricants, spare parts, as well as raising the minimum wage in the economy, lead to the aging of buses and minibuses trained in passenger transport and have a negative impact on the transport sector. The members of the Consultative Council will also propose to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure tariff liberalization, following the example of the neighboring countries - Romania and Ukraine.
The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure will examine the situation and come up with solutions to improve the situation in the field of passenger transport.
The representatives of the Transport Operators' Association, the International Carrier Association, the Employers' Association "Employers of Passenger and Passenger Car Transports by Taxi", the Association of Employers of Auto Transport "Nord", the Association of Employers' Union and Drumari, the National Auto Transport Agency, the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, as well as representatives of trade unions in the field.
