Consequences of pensions' indexation: Retired say they are glad that their efforts are finally appreciated
The indexed pensions make the old be more optimistic.
The old say that finally their efforts were appreciated. Elena Voicu from Climauti village, Soldanesti village is glad that her work is finally appreciated. She was a teacher of primary school for her entire life.
"You know, my pension was so small at the beginning, it was 600 lei. Now, it is higher", said Elena Voicu.
The woman doesn't have big plans to do with her pension, she just wants to provide good conditions to her children and grandchildren.
"I don't do much now. I only prepare food for my grandchildren, do the household stuff and so on", said Elena Voicu.
Mihail Stirbu is a member of a dance team from Soldanesti, he benefits of a higher pension, as it raised from 1300 to 3300. The man thinks that the Government does everything possible for the old.
"I am glad about the pensions reform. Now, I have the possibility to save some money, but sweets to my grandchildren and do everything I couldn't afford before. The Government does everything possible to provide us good conditions", said Mihai Stirbu, retired.
Pensions established in 2009-2011 will be recalculated next year, and those who have retired during the years 2012-2014 will benefit from this procedure in the next two years.
Moldova has over 700, 000 pensioners.
