K9s of the Border Police starred at a contest in Latvia. They crossed marshy places and dragged under nets
The first place for professional grade B and third place for professional class A are the remarkable results obtained by border guards, along with their four-peers, at the International Biathlon Competition "Latvia 2018". At its 13th edition, it is one of the most popular cynology contests held in Rezekne, Latvia.
Between 17-18 August five binocular inspectors of the Border Police participated in the international competition organized annually by the Chinological Center of the State Border Guard Service of Latvia.
The organizers have proposed this year to increase both individual and team quino- logical skills, to assess the training of service dogs with their involvement in unforeseen service activities and to exchange good practices among the participants. Border Police of the Republic of Moldova competed with the representatives of the police and border institutions from the Baltic countries, Belarus and Georgia, where 18 participants were registered for each category.
The program included various stages where it was required to present all the canine training capabilities as well as the skills of the quadrupeds. Samples were conducted on a 9 km long route, namely:
-Throwing balls in the basket near the dog, without running after them;
-Transporting the dog to the wheelbarrow; moving without a leech dog among agitated people, without admitting their biting;
-Crossing a milky sector; passing a crawl sector under the net;
-Executing Glok gun firings; passing through a tunnel;
-Detaining the person who attacked by surprise;
-The detention of the person who is not subject to the summons and escapes.
The rules of competition have been well established and respected at the highest level, which has made the quinologists' task with the work dogs not just easy. The ambition to compete and the desire to win mobilized the participants so that in the professional category A, the individual class was ranked: Fourth place - Border police officer Suman Vladimir with four-legged Bred;
VIIth place - Border policeman Balan Ghenadie with the quad Nero;
Fourth place - border police Ivasiuc Marina with Beisy quadruped (women's ranking).
In professional category B, individual class:
Fourth place - frontier policeman Izbaş Alexandru with quadruped Ada;
VIth place - the border policeman Sergei Sergei with the four-legged Doli.
In the professional category A, the Border Police Team of the Republic of Moldova occupied 3rd place, after the Belarusian team and Latvia. And the surprise comes at the end of the competition, where in the B professional category, the team of the Border Police team went up first, registering results throughout the contest and exceeding the scores of the teams in Latvia.
The competition was completed with the winners' prizes and the congratulation of all participants by the organizers of the event, revealing the experience and mutual exchange of information, knowledge and skills acquired in the field of activity.
