The Parliament hosted, on the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova, the 100 children participating in the Diaspora Government program "Diaspora. Origins. Returns".
Accompanied by volunteers, the children took part in a guided tour of the Legislature building, briefed themselves on the work of deputies, the history of parliamentarism, as well as visited Europa Hall, the Museum of the Institution, the press conference room and the plenary session.
In the Parliament, the guests watched videos about the lawsuit, questioned, and discussed with the officials of the institution.
During August, the Parliament visited about 100 citizens of the Republic of Moldova settled abroad. At the same time, for the first time, the Legislature participated this year at the Diaspora Congress, the 8th edition.
The DOR program is organized each year in August and gathers 80 diaspora from different countries and 20 young people from Moldova. The aim of the camp is to strengthen the emotional, cultural and identity ties of the diaspora youth with the native country.
Since the beginning of this year, over 4,500 people have carried out information visits to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. 10% of all visitors were foreign citizens. Among the most active visitors of the Moldovan Parliament were those from Romania, Great Britain, Spain and Portugal. The parliament was also visited by citizens from Chile, Argentina, Mexico and Colombia.
