Maria Biesu festival of this year will be special. Within a press conference, the ministry of Culture urged the art lovers to come at the event.

"I want you to be active and buy tickets. Artists from ten countries will honor us", said Monica Babuc, the minister of Culture.

Mihai Munteanu, a good friend of the soprano says that he felt that the festival will be special this year.

"When Maria Biesu died, I said that this festival will always live", said Mihai Munteanu, singer of the National Theater of Opera and Ballet.

Maria Biesu died in 2012, she was 76 years old. In 1967, the singer gained the title of Cio-Cio-San. Then, the artists performed on stages from Moscow, Paris, Sydney, Tokio, Varsovia, Helsinki, Tbilisi and Sankt-Petersburg.
