Teachers will receive higher salaries starting from September 1. The government has passed today a decision to enforce the law drafted in this respect. Thus, the salary of teaching staff and scientific-teaching staff in educational institutions financed from the budget will be indexed by 8%.

The salary of a rector will increase to 6460 lei, and of a university professor - up to 4840 lei. The salary of university lecturers will increase by 325 lei, and the lecturers will increase by about 300 lei.

With higher salaries also will benefit university assistants, coaches and higher education trainers. According to the same algorithm, the salaries of employees in general and technical education will increase.

In this year 130 million lei are foreseen in the state budget to make the increases.
