Igor Dodon, one of his sons and his mother were hospitalized this evening, after an accident they were involved in, near Straseni town. According to the police, two cars of the president violently collided with a truck. After the impact, one of the presidential cars overturned and the second avoided collided with the truck. The cars were seriously damaged. The driver of the car that provoked the accident has a head trauma and a SPPS officer was seriously wounded. Fortunately, the President and his relatives weren't seriously injured.

The truck was driving on the opposite sense of the road and this is why he hit the presidential cars. The President was in the car that overturned. Dodon family were going to Sadova, President's native village.

"A truck was driving on the opposite sense of the road and hit the Presidential car. One officer of the State Protection Service suffered. He was hospitalized and received the required medical aid", said Anatolie Golea, the chief of the State Guard Service.

Igor Dodon and his relatives have been transported to the Emergency Hospital from the Capital.

"He was injured a bit. He didn't require any medical aids. In an hour, his mother was brought. She had a head trauma. Her condition is good. They all left home", said Serghei Stefa, the vice director of the Emergency Hospital.

In an hour, the traffic on Straseni-Calarasi highway was stopped.

"I have been waiting for a half of an hour here. We don't know what happened."

"I am waiting for already an hour."

Some of the drivers found out on internet what happened.

"We have read the news and found out that Dodon got involved in an accident."

The driver of the truck was hospitalized in Straseni District Hospital. The doctors say that his condition is okay. The case is investigated by police. They will establish what does the guilty driver risk.

(UPDATE 17:27) The driver was hospitalized in Straseni, as he has got a head trauma.

The presidential state cars got involved in an accident on Straseni-Calarasi road. The police is already there.

According to the police, the Presidential cars collided with a truck that belongs to a poultry company and overturned. One of the cars that overturned is the one of Igor Dodon.

"The President was transported to the hospital. He was not seriously injured. As far as I know, the Presidency will emit a press release on this topic. Now, the President is in a good condition. I don't know how are the members of the family. It is too early to come up with a conclusion. The police will also come up with a press release", said Alexandru Pinzari, IGP chief.

"The President and his family members were transported to the Emergency Hospital from Chisinau. The President is in a good condition. He was investigated by doctors. He is in a good condition. Everybody benefited of first aid. In the accident, two cars were involved. The Presidential State Cars were driving legally, while the truck was driving on the opposite sense of the road. This is how the hit took place", said Anatol Gorea, SPPS chief, for Digi 24.

According to the information, the president was transported to the hospital.

Many ambulances and rescues came at the place of the accident. The road was blocked.
