Employees of customs posts prevented two more attempted illicit trafficking in tobacco products, with a total of 13,800 cigarettes hidden from customs control.The first case was reported by the employees of the Lipcani customs station, who discovered yesterday 4,800 cigarettes of various brands. The goods were hidden under the front seats of a car driven by a citizen of Romania.
The second detention was registered at the capital's airport, after the Customs service dog reacted to the suitcase of one of the passengers of the Chisinau-London flight. Under the baggage check, customs officers detected 9,000 undeclared cigarettes.
The consignments have been detained for confiscation and the travelers who have kept them from customs control have been fined.
