Andrian Candu referring to seven Turkish citizens expelled from Moldova: We should trust our state institutions
"We should trust out institutions. If they encroached any rules, they will be punished", said Andrian Candu, the President of the Parliament referring to the case of the seven Turkish citizens expelled from the Republic of Moldova.
The official also highlighted the thing that this case is about expulsion and not about extradition.
"From a judicial point of view, these persons were declared undesirable. SIS has brought enough arguments referring to the national security. If there gonna be some other arguments regarding the human rights and the legal procedure, all of us will know about it", declared Andrian Candu.
After the journalists asked what does he think about this case, Andrian Candu said that he doesn't have an own opinion about it.
"I don't have an own opinion about this subject. We should trust the institutions who made these decisions. At least, in the last 28 years, we lie in a difficult region and a lot of subjects about national security surround us, for example, the issues regarding the Transnistrean region, the conflicts from Ukraine, Gagauzia and others. Thanks God, the Republic of Moldova is still secure", pointed out the official.
Both Andrian Candu and Pavel Filip think that this case takes part of the election campaign.
"We all have our own judicial opinions. We should understand that there will be election comments on this topic. Certainly, in the Republic of Moldova there are institutions that protect the human rights, as the Public Lawyer and ONU. The mechanisms are available and I have seen that there are also lawyers, including the court in Strasbourg. That's why we should be patient, if somehow the procedures were violated, the one who violated them will be punished. That is why we need to trust our institutions", said Andrian Candu.
"I don't want to comment on the declarations made during the election campaign. These are electoral demonstrations, that's why I leave without comment all these harsh statements and the Government, and the institutions of the statute, beyond the election campaign, beyond all this political infighting will have a pragmatic attitude. For the Turkish citizens there were hearings organized by the president, Candu, where there were necessary explanations and arguments that we convinced that the services did their duty", said Pavel Filip, Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova.
