Caught while stealing pieces from a car on Balkan Road
A 35-year-old man was caught in the moment of stealing the parts of a Toyota car in the courtyard of a block of flats on the Balkan Road from Chisinau. It is not known where the stolen pieces would arrive, it is certain that the individual was at the crime scene with a car of the same brand, where these were to be hidden.
The offense was discovered at the time of police patrol service. The man used several types of tools to remove the car accessories.
According to prosecutors, he is liable to a fine of up to 32,000 lei, unpaid community work from 120 to 240 hours or up to 2 years imprisonment.
At the same time, the Bucharest Police urges car owners:
provide the car with a performance alarm system that applies to windows and hoods, which always proves its efficiency;
Check that the windows are closed and the doors secured when leaving the car, even for a few minutes;
at night, park your car in specially arranged and illuminated places within the police patrol area;
Do not keep in sight in the car valuable goods (bags, purses, bracelets, identity papers, documents, credit cards, audio-video equipment, mobile phones, etc.);
If there are traces left by offenders (broken glass, footwear or damaged car accessories), take measures to protect them before the arrival of the forensic experts.
