Chiril Gaburici: M3 highway is very important for the infrastructure of our country, this is why we should repair it as soon as possible
"We are attending a new important event for the infrastructure of Moldova. After signing the contract to repair 85 kilometers of road on Chisinau-Giurgiulesti road, today, we signed the contract to repair M3 national road, Porumbeni-Cimislia and the bypass road of Comrat. The citizens need these streets to be repaired. Within the visit we paid to these locations, we discussed with the entrepreneurs who will built these roads and they will have lower costs for transport and will finish the work faster. Moreover, these roads provide the access to many important town from Moldova and even the access to the Black Sea", said Chiril Gaburici, the minister of Economy and Infrastructure.
The contracts between Roads State Administration and ONUR Taahhut Tasimacilik Insaat Ticaret Ve Sanayi A.S. from Turkey have been signed. Their offers matched the requirements.
Totally, at the auction there were four offers. Among the work that should be done, there is the rehabilitation and asphalting of roads, construction of rainwater drainage systems, construction of 14 bridges / passages and installation of street lighting. The cost of construction and repair works is about 59, 4 million.
Chiril Gaburici highlighted that the work should not only be well done, but also to be done in time.
"Some of the roads are of an international importance. Since the road from Comrat will be repaired, the traffic will be easier. Also, starting 2019, a factory within the Free Economic zone will be opened and it will create jobs for over 1000 people", said Chiril Gaburici.
ONUR vice director, Taahhut Tasimacilik Insaat Ticaret Ve Sanayi A.S. has won the project to built M3 highway. "Our target is to finish the work as soon as possible and to do it well. These projects will be important for the economy of the country", said İhsan Çetinceviz.
According to Gheorghe Curmei, the director of the Roads State Administration, the work is planned to be done in 36 months and also 12 months were allocated for the testing period. "This company has a good experience in Moldova. They signed two contracts to repair 50 road kilometers. We hope that the work will be well done", said Gheorghe Curmei.
The contracts that we signed today were supported by the European Bank for Investments. Chiril Gaburici thanked EBI for their help.
