Parliament, with open doors for visitors. Fourth consecutive year

Visitors took guided tours, participated in prize competitions, were informed about the legislative process and parliamentary scrutiny, wrote messages to lawmakers, and had a master-class on how to write a petition.
12 institutions reporting to the Parliament set up information stands on the hall of the Legislature: the General Prosecutor's Office, the Central Election Commission, the National Anti-Corruption Center, the National Bank of Moldova, the Court of Accounts, the People's Advocate Office, the National Integrity Authority, the National Commission of the Financial Market, for the Energy Regulation, the National Center for Personal Data Protection, the Competition Council and the Council for the Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and for ensuring equality. Representatives of the institutions have informed visitors throughout the day about the actions they have taken and how they can help citizens in resolving different situations.
At the opening of the event, Andrian Candu, Parliament Speaker, together with a group of MPs, visited the informational stands and discussed with representatives of the public authorities.
"Every passing year, Parliament is becoming more open, transparent and accessible to citizens. It is open, first of all, to those who want to visit Parliament and understand how the legislative process is taking place, weekly trips are organized. And the dialogue between the citizens and the elected ones is quite good, including facilitated by the Parliament's territorial information offices, "said Andrian Candu.
For the first time in Parliament, a children's play area was set up. The small visitors drew up, made puzzles and participated in various contests and interactive games with prizes.
In order to meet the high number of requests, visitors were pre-registered through a simplified procedure. Also, all members were invited to the event.
The day of open doors to Parliament is part of the program of actions dedicated to the International Day of Democracy, marked annually on 15 September.
The Moldovan Parliament organizes guided tours for everyone who wants to visit the Parliament building, see from inside where the deputies work and get as much information as possible from the legislative work. The visit program was launched in 2014. Up to now, Parliament has been visited by over 23,000 visitors.
