The man forced to pay an illegal tax of 917 lei for the introduction of clothing articles purchased in Romania for his daughters has received his money back. The amount was returned to him by the Customs Service.
The case was made public two days ago by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, who received a complaint from the man. Then the prime minister called on customs officials to solve the problem and asked them not to play people.PUBLIKA.MD reminds that the man entered the country with t-shirts, trousers, stockings and footwear. Although the goods were not for sale and did not exceed the amount of EUR 300 from which the taxes were applied, a customs inspector ordered him to pay an import tax.
The Customs Service announced on Wednesday it had initiated a service investigation.
