Traditions and ancient customs revived in Nimoreni, Ialoveni. The first edition of the Wedding Story Festival gathered visitors not only from us but also from neighboring countries. The event started with a parade of the popular clothes.
This woman came to the festival to review those traditions and customs that were unforgettable at her wedding 46 years ago.
"I am very happy because these traditions are in the sight of the youth. I look at them and I shake my soul when I remember what beautiful traditions there were before."
And in the old days, the bridegroom paid special attention to the clothing.
"The bride was clearly white and weaving, and this is how it is." It was a white thread, woven with wired thread, and the men used to wear it, and the bottom edge was wearing it "
According to the dignitaries, the bride's parents had to provide her daughter dowry. Girls received gifts in the household.
"I brought the Moldovan carpets, which were given to the wedding at the time. It was supposed to have the bride a dowry of carpets, towels, shit and all that had to be in the bride's home", said the popular craftswoman Raisa Lungu.
At one of the stands could be admired the big house.
"Here we also have papers made by the students. Everything you see that surrounds us has been put on the soul and these beautiful things I think must be in every corner of our house", said Elena, the director of the gymnasium in the locality.
People have been delighted with the festival.
"I believe that this event makes the world perhaps return to the traditions that were once"
"We are happy to be doing such festivals, we are very happy"
The organizers say the event aims to promote the traditions and customs specific to Moldovan weddings.
