Apples festival: 200 kg pie was prepared in Soroca
A huge pie was cooked today at the Apple Festival that took place in Soroca. The women from Solcani village said that they worked hours in a row to prepare it.
"We have been working for a half of a day to prepare it. We started it at 11 AM and finished by the evening", said Ana Purici, woman from Solcani.
The other women also prepared food.
"We prepared pies, cooked apples, cheese pie and so on", said a woman.
The farmers brought fruits. Mihai Eftodii has an orchard of apples that lays on 30 ha. After he has been working for a year, he brought his harvest.
"I have a good harvest. I am proud of it", said Mihai Eftodii, farmer.
Besides food and fruits, the visitors also enjoyed traditional music.
"Everything is great", said a woman.
"I admired the concert. It was amazing", said a woman.
At the event also came special guests. The AIPA director, who is a candidate for the minister of Agriculture says that the apples are very important for the economy of the country.
"We should develop this industry, as the apples have an important role for the international economy", said Nicolae Ciubuc, AIPA director.
"This festival highlights the apples entrepreneurs from Soroca. Also, it shows the traditions and culture of our country. This is a beautiful festival", said Monica Babuc, the Minister of Education, Culture and Research.
Apples Festival was celebrated for the eight year near Soroca fortress.
