Minister Tudor Ulianovschi also referred to the bilateral cooperation in the field of digital technologies development, which is a priority for the Government of the Republic of Moldova. "We are ready to initiate joint projects with Canada in the Digital Francophonie Strategy: Horizon 2020, which comes as a support for innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship of youth in the digital domain. In this regard, we encourage public-private partnerships and the participation of Canadian companies in the work of digital technology parks, such as "Tekwill", which offers attractive conditions to investors, "Tudor Ulianovschi stressed.
A special topic in the discussions of the two officials was the agenda of the OIF summit in Erevan, where the new secretary general of the organization will be elected. In this context, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi mentioned that the Republic of Moldova is closely following the positions of the member states regarding the candidates for the position of secretary general of the Organization, expressing its confidence that the OIF member states will reach a consensus on the issue until the beginning of the Ministerial Conference of Ministers Francophonie, scheduled for 7-9 October 2018, in Yerevan. "The Republic of Moldova will join the consensus and I am convinced that the member states will contribute to this objective," the head of the Moldovan diplomacy pointed out.
Mélanie Joly praised the position of the Republic of Moldova in the OIF, urging our country to support a candidate that will boost the work of the International Francophonie Organization, bringing added value not only to the Organization but also to every single state. In this context, Minister Mélanie Joly welcomed the intention of the Republic of Moldova to sign the Linguistic Pact, which is a good opportunity to promote French language in education in Republic of Moldova.
