Pavel Filip held meeting with Mamuka Bakhtadze, Georgian prime minister
Prime minister Pavel Filip and the prime minister of Georgia, Mamuka Bakhtadze appreciated the relationship between Moldova and Georgia. The officials highlighted that the cooperation will improve, as the countries have common interests. The officials held a meeting within the reunion of GUAM member countries' chairmen.
The Moldovan prime minister said that the two countries have common interests in the European Integration path.
"This thing shows that together we will find solutions to the problems we face. I am glad that Moldova has such an important and strong partner", mentioned Pavel Filip.
Mamuka Bakhatadze, the Georgian prime minister appreciated the good organization of GUAM reunion and Pavel Filip's contribution to the development of the bilateral dialogue.
"We see a potential in improving our mutual relationship. We have the same targets and should fulfill it", said Mamuka Bakjtadze.
The officials also talked about the cooperation in the economic field. The prime ministers stressed that while there is an increase in trade between states, the potential is not fully exploited. On this dimension it was proposed to capitalize on the opportunities of the Free Economic Zones, but also to hold the second meeting of the intergovernmental commission for commercial-economic cooperation. The parties agreed to hold the meeting in Chisinau by the end of this year.
Also, Pavel Filip and Mamuka Bakhtadze reiterated their mutual support in maintaining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two states, including by involving international partners in the negotiation process. In order to streamline the exchange of information on security standards, the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Georgia on the exchange and protection of classified information.
