Plahotniuc: We will vote for the introduction of "European integration" phrase in Constitution
The phrase "European integration" could be introduced in the Constitution. About the initiative to vote this bill, Democrat's President Vlad Plahotniuc announced today in the DPM press briefing.
"We also discussed today the legislative initiative to amend the Constitution to introduce the phrase" European integration ".
As you know today, there are not enough votes in the Governing Coalition to vote this law, and PLDM and PL: have yet to say how they will vote on this bill, or have submitted different conditions for this vote.
We believe that the introduction of the concept of "European integration" into the Constitution as a basic element of the national development strategy of the Republic of Moldova: it should not be politically negotiated and should not be part of political games on this issue.
The term in which we can still vote for this law expires soon, and that is why we decided that in the next sittings of this week's Parliament we should submit the bill to this vote and this way every member will have the opportunity to demonstrate: truly pro-European, or if he uses this phrase only as an electoral element.
The purpose for which we introduce the phrase "European integration" into the Constitution is to make the strategic direction of Moldova's development even clearer, and the idea of European integration must: be depoliticised, not be subject to electoral speculation and take the role they are naturally in the national development strategy of the country.
That is what we had in mind when, as a party, we decided that the Democratic Party would become: a party for Moldova and its people, a party that contributes to the European modernization of the country through laws and concrete actions internally, through false speeches and sterile promises on facebook.
The concern of any government must not be geopolitical, but the welfare of the people", said Vlad Plahotniuc.
