NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR ROAD WORKERS: Companies will participate at World Bank auctions

Local road construction companies will be able to participate in projects funded by the World Bank. New ways of development have emerged thanks to the practice gained under the program "Good Roads for Moldova", launched at the initiative of the Democratic Party.
Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici, discussed the new opportunities during the first meeting of the "Economy Talks" press club.
Specialists in the field have said that many local companies can already easily compete with foreign firms that are currently winning almost all auctions.
According to the State Road Administration, there are about 10 large construction companies in Moldova. All were involved in the "Good Roads for Moldova" program, launched at the initiative of PDM President Vlad Plahotniuc.
Approximately 900 kilometers of roads from the 1,200 announced have already been built under the program. The total investment exceeds one billion 200 million lei.
Moreover, the leader of the Democratic Party said that next year, within the "Good roads for Moldova 2" project, another 2,600 km will be built.
