Attempted prison break in No.2 penitentiary from Lipcani failed. A couple of defendants dug a groove to the exit from the prison. But, their attempt failed, because the employees of the prison caught them. Now, the men will stay more years behind bars.

"The defendants of No.5 prison from Lipcani dug a groove and tried to run away, but we revealed them in time", said Aliona Cheptanaru, press officer of the National Penitentiaries Administration.

The National Administration of Penitentiaries didn't offer details on this case.

The groove was revealed last week and the defendants recognized their guilt. In the No.2 penitentiary from Lipcani there are 333 persons.
