Ten people were detained in a corruption file involving 5 judges, 1 prosecutor, 1 lawyer, 1 judicial assistant, 1 doctor, and one defendant on a case file.
They claimed and received very large amounts of money to issue favorable decisions on several of the criminal cases under the examination.The role of lawyer and prosecutor in the scheme consisted in mediating the transmission of funds from interested persons to magistrates.
The doctor and other physical person involved in the scheme were the "clients" of judges, those who provided the money and in whose interest favorable decisions were to be issued.
Thus, following the searches carried out today by the anti-corruption prosecutors and the NAC officers at the offices and home of the persons involved in the file, 10 persons were detained, namely: 3 judges from the Court of Appeal, 2 judges from the Chisinau Court, 1 prosecutor from Chisinau Prosecutor's Office, 1 lawyer, 1 legal assistant, 1 doctor and one physical person defendant in file.
