Moldovan people receive more money from abroad. Since the beginning of the year, our fellow countrymen have sent home nearly a billion dollars.
According to NBM data, the figure is 9.5 percent higher than in the same period in 2017. Last month, the value of the money transfers was over 97 million dollars.
In September, 43 percent of them came from the EU. For about 17 percent less money came from CIS member states.Much of the money, almost 25 percent of the total amount of transfers, is paid by Moldovans in Russia. In one month, our country has reached over 24 million dollars.
The figure is down by about 9 percentage points from September 2017. The second place is the transfers from Israel, which represent 17 percent of the total, and three - the ones in Italy.
If we are talking about foreign currency, then transfers in euros cover almost 48 percent of the total, in dollars - 45 percent, and those in rubles have fallen by up to 7 percent.
