Pensions lower than the minimum subsistence level that is 1589 lei, will be increased by 10 percent from January 1, 2019. A draft law in this regard was approved by the Parliament in the final reading.
Thus, old-age pensions will increase by 115 lei on average, disability pensions will increase by 101 lei, and in the case of the members of their family members the average increase will be 123 lei.
Expenditure on these increases will be covered from the state social security budget and the state budget, depending on the source of pension funding.
The leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova, Vlad Plahotniuc, announced previously the increase of pensions lower than the minimum of existence.
