The "First Home" program exceeded the Government's expectations . The statement was made by the Prime Minister Pavel Filip during a meeting organized at Cahul with the beneficiaries of the project.
According to the head of the government, thanks to the initiative, several young families chose to stay in the country.
26 families in the Cahul district have bought their home thanks to the First House Program. Among them are Merlan wives, who have three children. They moved two months ago into a new house. The dwelling cost him 600,000 lei, and most of the money borrowed from the bank. The monthly rate is 3,500 lei, of which the state pays 1,000.
"Due to the program, we had to contribute only 10% of the cost of the property. I am a civil servant and we are benefited, the state helps us", said Nicolae Merlan, border guard, First House beneficiary.
"I did not want a very big home, I wanted a comfortable home, where we could feel good with our children", said Dora Merlan, the First House beneficiary.
The children are happy to have their own room according to their own pleasure:
"I am very glad that we have our own room, this policy is mine and my brother, and that's the same here". Here I have pictures, I can do what I want".
Prime Minister Pavel Filip expressed his satisfaction that the program is of great help to young people in the country.
"It is much more effective than we have at first stage". Banks began to compete with each other and offer lower interest rates than we supposed, "it is important for us to finally stay at home to work here", said Pavel Filip.
So far, 810 beneficiaries have purchased housing under the First Home Program. 586 are families, and 224 are unmarried. In total, credits of over 380 million lei were offered and the amount of state guarantees is almost 190 million lei.
Most requests are registered in the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti, but also in the Cahul, Ungheni and Comrat districts.
