Minister Ciubuc: Total value of investments in agriculture is almost 6 billion lei

The total amount of investments in agriculture this year has reached over six billion lei. According to Minister Nicolae Ciubuc, this is a record amount, which has allowed several projects to be carried out. The statements were made at an event organized on the Occupational Day of Agricultural Workers. Prime Minister Pavel Filip also attended the feast, who said that the authorities are planning to increase the Grant Fund due to economic growth.
"Invest in modern equipment, invest in modern technology, so that we can all be absolutely sure that the fruit we grew up will be sold. Dear Farmers, I assure you that the Government will continue to be a friend of today and a true partner of yours", said Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
Among the most important projects are the subsidy program for young farmers and women, Minister Ciubuc said.
"We have over six billion lei invested in this sector, compared to four, which were registered in 2017. This obviously also put a bigger burden on the National Fund for Agricultural Development and Rural Areas. over one billion lei. Through investments we modernize the sector", said Nicolae Ciubuc, Minister of Agriculture.
During the event, six farmers were awarded the best results during the year. Among them is Iurie Taran, who manages the first cranberry plantation in Moldova.
"Two years ago, the Government believed in our business. This year we have been successful, the fruit has exceeded our expectations, and we have had the first export batch this year, I think we will present our merchandise on the US market a year ago", highlighted Iurie Tarai, farmer.
Although they face many problems, including the lack of workers and modern irrigation systems, farmers say slow things are moving.
"We have the full support from the Government. We have the best of all time, we have to improve the working conditions, the equipment to buy in order to be competitive on the European market," said Grigore Cojocaru, a farmer.
"All the arrears that have been paid, this has given us the opportunity, winemaking requires a lot of investment to get a qualitative production", said Vladimir Davidescu, a farmer.
The farmers' professional day is marked since 1994, the last Sunday in November.
